Green Thumb Sale and Plant Day 2002.
The Sioux City Garden Club sponsors a plant sale and lecture series every
spring. Usually the first Saturday after Mother's Day. These are
mostly perennial flowers grown by the members from their local gardens. In
addition, Harlan Hamernik of
Bluebird Nursery, brings new plants or unusual varieties not commonly found
in stores. These plants are sold by the Club as a fund raiser, as well as
for comradeship. The whole idea is to join with like plant nuts, maybe buy
something new, and learn how to grow it. The sale is usually at the
Morningside College Commons in Sioux City, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
