Oh, one bird is enough.  But I saw this little guy.  I couldn't keep away from him and after a few days of visits, plus a sob story about how he would have to go to some lady in Des Moines who killed hers in only 4 days...well I brought him home.  He will go to anyone, and like his pictures show, looks like something Disney invented.  Keep tune for more pictures.  This guy is active.  100 miles an hour, or he is asleep.

Well, "Pete" turned out to be "Petra".  She started laying eggs.  This seems to be a regular occurrence now.  She has laid over a dozen each of the last three years, starting in late November.  Yellow thighed Caiques really uncommon in the USA.  I suppose she should go to a breeder, but we just don't want to part with her.

The top of her head is all orange now.
