The ones you are used to.  Probably Grandma's lactifloras.  Lactifloras bloom all the way to the end of the season in late June.  There are many other herbaceous peonies besides the lactifloras.  Hybrids usually bloom before the lactifloras.  "Fern leaf" types brought to Iowa by the pioneers are the first bloomers at the end of April.  The end of bloom here is with "Elsa Sass" and "White Innocence".   At my house the tree peony bloom is generally before the herbaceous peonies, with the mid to latter 1/3 of tree peony bloom running over into the herbaceous bloom.

Hold or click your cursor over the picture to look at the URL listing.  If you are using Internet Explorer, keep the 'status bar'  active on the bottom of the screen.  (Click on the "view" above in Internet Explorer, and put a check mark next to "Status Bar")  It will give you the names.  The captions will be done later.  I'll also split these into more pages, because it takes too long to load for those with "dial-up" modems.
