Ferry From
Sidney, BC, to Anacortes, WA. Then East, and Home.
We left Victoria for a short ride north to Sidney. Here you catch the
Anacortes Ferry to Anacortes, Washington. I was told to do this because
the trip is pretty, and there is less hassle with customs and the large number
of people crossing at Vancouver, BC. You must pass immigration before
boarding the ferry, and customs on leaving it. "Yes sir, no sir" the right
papers and good eye contact assures a smooth transition. After staying at
the Super 8 in Ellensburg, WA, we made slab speed for home. We stayed at
Butte, MT, Rapid City, SD, and then to Sioux City. Sure it was a fast
5,500 plus miles. But it was a great trip. If I had more time, I
would stay more in the Canadian Rockies and west around Smithers, BC on
Yellowhead 16. Maybe up the Cassiar to the north...but that's another
trip!

You must pass immigration before getting on to go to WA. She asked for my passport. I did bring them. It stops all the hassles. A completely different attitude here, than entering through Montana. |

The ferry passes through the San Juan Islands (American) on the way to Anacortes. Looks like rich people live and play here. |

Motorcycles go to the front and leave the first, well almost. Almost anything goes on a ferry. You could buy a nice lunch on it. |

Each stone is where a cavalry man fell. The black one in the middle is for Custer. There are some in the draw almost to the trees. |

Premier outfitter. This one is at Mitchell, SD on Interstate 90. The main store is in Sydney, Nebraska, off I-80. Ladies-If your man is an outdoorsman, do not let him come in here! Or cancel the bank account, & get a hotel room to wait. |
